Collective team effort is the need of the hour

It has been a very good World Cup for India as they are in the final, but still there are plenty of things which Indian team needs to look at. In all the matches of World Cup, Indian team had struggled even against weak opponents like Ireland.  And the main reason for this is the absence of a collective effort.

We have seen Indian team getting a very good start and then suddenly collapsing. And it is because one day it has been Yuvraj Singh shining, another day Gambhir is rising and the other day Master Blaster playing his class, but not even for once, three of them have played well together, made centuries/half centuries together.

Though Dhoni being the captain has lead the team from the front, still he has not played the Captain’s knock in the entire tournament. I wonder if he has scored a half century in the tournament. He needs to concentrate on his batting, needs to play a good knock and hassle the bowling attack of Sri Lanka.

However Sri Lankan bowlers are doing well at the moment. Muralidharan in his last match will be giving his best, Mendis and Malinga too will be difficult for the Indian batsmen to handle. The latter needs to form a strategy about how to tackle the Sri Lankan bowling attack, since Sri Lankans will be in no mood to lose this prestigious cup for the second consecutive time (Sri Lanka lost the final of Wold Cup 2007 from Australia).

We saw Indian bowlers playing well against Pakistan, but one must admit Pakistan’s batting order is currently struggling with their form. And the Sri Lankan batsmen will be showing no mercy towards them.  It will be a critical decision for Dhoni to make, whom to play Ashwin or Nehra. Both of them have played well when given opportunity.

One thing which Indian team has improved a lot during this world cup is its fielding, and they need to repeat the same in the final. Catches win Matches, and to win this match, team needs to grab catches and a good display of fielding is really very important.

Team India can handle pressure well, I wonder if they have got nerves of steel! They did well in a high pressure game against Pakistan. This will be giving them a soft edge over Sri Lankans.

At this point it’s not one person’s day, everyone has to contribute together for the team. Yuvraj, Sachin, Gambhir along with Captain Dhoni need to contribute for the team total. Ashish, Harbhajan, Zaheer and Munaf  need to pitch the ball at right areas and must go on in a similar fashion as they went against Pakistan.

All the best team India, the hard endeavors you put in for the game, the more closer you are swept towards the World Cup Trophy. Strong determination is all what is required and you will be lifting the trophy up and you will be the Winner of the World Cup and the Australian reign will come to an end.
