Indian fast bowler Ashish Nehra will be missing the final of ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 against Sri Lanka, following an injury. Ashish Nehra got this injury while fielding in the semi final match against Pakistan.
Ashish Nehra's absence is a huge blow for team India. Nehra bowled decently against Pakitan. Bowled deliveries of good line and length. In his 10 overs spell he gave away 33 runs and picked up 2 wickets.
During fielding he dived to grab a catch and met a hand injury. After the scan report it was made clear that he has broken his finger and won't be able to play in the final.
There was a tough competition between Nehra and R. Ashwin for a place in playing 11. It is expected that R. Ashwin can replace Ashish Nehra from the squad.
